ASAKUSA contemporary art space is pleased to invite its neighbours, friends, and visitors to the first annual screening exhibition about the legacy of mass culture entertainment, accessed critically from a geopolitical viewpoint and as a reflection of Asakusa's multinational community.

From Sci-Fi and new religions to investigative journalism, a range of mechanisms affecting belief and disbelief shape the forms of our thinking, cultures, and leisure industries, and lead us to question the art of governance in modern politics.

An exhibition catalog, consisting of excerpts from Michel Foucault's 1978 lecture "What is Critique?", introductions on each exhibited work and "The Art of Not Being Governed" (Asakusa), will be on sale soon.
